Conservative, advanced and surgical treatment options for all foot concerns
What’s the difference between Conservative, advanced and surgical treatment?
At Grants Pass Podiatry, your treatment plan always starts with the least invasive option that can actually work. Conservative care — orthotics, injections, targeted therapy — is where most patients begin, and where many find lasting relief. When more is needed, advanced treatments like MLS laser and Shockwave offer powerful healing without downtime. Surgery only enters the conversation when it's truly the right call, and when it is, Dr. Sautter's minimally invasive approach means faster recovery and less time off your feet. Every step of the way, the goal is the same: get you back to your life.
how we work
-
We don’t believe in lengthening out your treatment longer than required. If your problem can be addressed or at the very least minimized on the first appointment, we will approach our treatment in that fashion. For example, if someone comes in with a painful ingrown toenail, Dr. Sautter will not evaluate it and then have you come back next week so you have to be Jim or Jane Hopalong for a week. We’ll take care of it that day.
-
You’ll leave with a treatment plan or at the very least, understand what Dr. Sautter requires to develop an effective treatment plan in the situations where other tests are required i.e. lab tests, nerve studies, MRI, etc.
-
Every foot is different, and so is every treatment. Whether you're leaving with a same-day procedure, a prescription, a custom orthotic plan, or the first step in a longer process — what matters is that you leave knowing exactly what's happening and why. Dr. Sautter takes the time to make sure your treatment fits your situation, not a one-size-fits-all protocol. You won't feel like a number, and you won't leave confused. Whatever your foot needs, we'll make sure you understand it, trust it, and feel good about the path forward.
-
Timing depends on the issue that you present with as the patient. Sometimes, no additional appointments are necessary or simply a phone call from one of our friendly staff will suffice. Dr. Sautter believes that if you’re doing well and have no additional questions after an appointment and your issue is resolved, he can cheer you on from afar rather than charge you to come in and simply say, “Looks good!”
